Uninstalling BeePanel

BeePanel can be removed in two ways. A plain uninstall removes the program and its service but keeps BeePanel's configuration and data, so installing again brings everything back. Uninstalling with --delete-data also deletes that data for good. Both work whatever the license state is.

Before you start

  • Root access to the BeePanel server.
  • Before deleting data: a copy of anything you want to keep from /opt/beepanel/config and /opt/beepanel/data.
  • During a trial: deleting data ends the trial for good. Installing again cannot resume or restart it.

Uninstalling and keeping the data

  1. Run as root:

    beepanel uninstall
  2. Type yes to confirm. Any other answer cancels and changes nothing.

BeePanel stops its service and removes the program, the beepanel command, the service, the recording cache, and its changes on the PBX. See What BeePanel changes on your PBX. It ends with:

success: BeePanel uninstalled; configuration and data kept

The configuration in /opt/beepanel/config, the data in /opt/beepanel/data, and the logs in /var/log/beepanel stay. To bring BeePanel back, run the install command again; it picks up the kept configuration and data, and if setup was complete, it does not run again.

Uninstalling and deleting the data

  1. Run as root:

    beepanel uninstall --delete-data
  2. Read the list of what will be deleted: the configuration, the database with the call history, the license and installation identity, and the logs.

  3. Type yes to confirm. Any other answer cancels and changes nothing.

It ends with:

success: BeePanel and its local data removed

Your CEL database, your recordings, and your PBX's own configuration and data are never deleted. Installing again starts with a new setup.

What stays on the server

In both cases:

  • the beepanel system account and group;
  • the read permissions the installer gave that account on the recordings and the queue log, which also cover files created later. Remove them yourself when you no longer need them.

The output lists every path it removed, edited, or kept, and any file it left because it could not prove that BeePanel created it.

Common problems

warning: BeePanel is still running; force-stopping it may interrupt active work

The service did not stop when asked. Type yes to stop it by force and continue, or no to cancel without removing anything.

error: uninstall cancelled; nothing was changed

The confirmation was not exactly yes or YES. Run the command again.
