The beepanel command handles the work that changes the server: installing, updating, uninstalling, and resetting the owner password. Everything else happens in the browser. Run the commands as root on the BeePanel server. The command line is in English in every language.

Commands

Command What it does
beepanel install Installs BeePanel on this server and starts the service. See Installing BeePanel.
beepanel update Updates to the newest release. See Updating BeePanel.
beepanel update --version=VERSION Installs one exact released version.
beepanel uninstall Removes BeePanel and keeps its configuration and data. See Uninstalling BeePanel.
beepanel uninstall --delete-data Removes BeePanel and permanently deletes its data.
beepanel password Resets the owner account's password. See Resetting the owner password.
beepanel license Shows the installed license and trial state.
beepanel version Prints the version and build information.
beepanel help Shows the list of commands.

beepanel daemon runs the service itself; systemd starts it, and you do not run it by hand. beepanel without a command, --help, and -h also show the list.

Reading the output

  • ==> lines show the stages of the command.
  • success: ends a command that worked.
  • warning: reports something the command continued past.
  • error: reports why the command stopped, often with cause: lines below it.
  • hint: says what to do next.

On a terminal the labels are colored. Set NO_COLOR=1 to turn the colors off; output redirected to a file never has them.

License information

beepanel license prints the license state without contacting BeePanel services: whether a trial or a perpetual license is active, the edition, the date updates are covered through, and the enabled capabilities. It never prints the license key.

Version information

beepanel version prints a line like this:

beepanel 1.2.0 (commit 1a2b3c4..., frontend 5d6e7f8..., built 2026-10-01T09:12:44Z)

Include it when you contact support.

Exit codes

Code Meaning
0 The command worked.
1 The command failed; the error: line names the cause.
2 The command line was invalid, such as an unknown command or flag.
78 The service refused to start because of a permanent startup or data problem.

An unknown command prints error: unknown command "..." and hint: run beepanel help.

The service

BeePanel runs as the beepanel systemd service. These standard commands work on it:

systemctl status beepanel
systemctl restart beepanel
